The Good of PowerPoint
PowerPoint is a great tool to utilize for teachers. PowerPoint makes teacher's lives easier and lessons more effective. By using a PowerPoint you are for sure not to forget information within a lesson that you may forget about if you are not using this technology. Also it is easier for students to follow along with a PowerPoint than it is for them a verbal lecture.
PowerPoint are excellent tools to use within the classroom. They bring structure to the class and depending on the format make it fun. I know as a student I always appreciated having a PowerPoint that was well structured and easy to take notes off of. PowerPoint's are a great tool when they are used appropriately.

The Bad of PowerPoint
Their is always a good and a bad to everything. PowerPoint is no different. The major bad that can result from PowerPoint is that students can lose interest. If their is no activity or fun part in the PowerPoint then students tend to not take notes or they fall asleep. Also when you are using a PowerPoint within a lesson it is hard to tell that students are taking notes on your PowerPoint. PowerPoint's are great to use within your lessons, just make sure it brings in an active part as well that way you keep your students interested in the lesson and PowerPoint.
Effective PowerPoints
The key to effective PowerPoints is how you get the content to your students. PowerPoint is all about getting information to your viewer. For some students it is hard to pay attention to a normal PowerPoint. To make an effective PowerPoint, you must have an interactive side to it as well. Adding a game to your PowerPoint is a great idea to get student participation up. Students will also appreciate you bringing in a fun game to the lesson.
